Avinguda Diagonal, 209, 08018 Barcelona, Spain

Description:

Barcelona, along with its historical monuments, can be proud of modern architectural masterpieces. Among them, the Aghbar Tower, 34 floors high, stands out as an example of the latest technologies and innovations in architecture.

The construction of this unique building was started in 1999 in Plaza Forest Glores Catalanes and was completed in 2005. The Frenchman Jean Nouvel acted as the chief architect, and the Agbar firm was the sponsor, the same company after which this famous skyscraper was named. The King of Spain was present at the opening ceremony.

Jean Nouvel claimed that the shape of this building was inspired by the outlines of Mount Montserrat and the bell tower of the Sagrada Familia. However, among the locals and numerous tourists behind the tower, the familiar name “Ocumber”, which, however, does not detract from the merits of this structure.

The tower is created according to the latest technology: outside it flickers with all possible colors, and inside it independently regulates electricity consumption by simply opening and closing the blinds. A special system of double facade helps to regulate the temperature in the rooms. To create favorable climatic conditions in the tower installed a modern air conditioning system. The building has a rounded shape, inside which there are elevators, and around there are offices. The tower is especially beautiful at night: more than 4000 lighting devices allow you to change the lighting of the facade and create various images with their help.
