Gracia Avenue
Carrer de Valencia, 270, 08007 Barcelona, Spain
Description:
Gracia Avenue is one of the largest avenues in Barcelona and one of the most important commercial and business districts of the city.
The first name of the passage was “The Way of Jesus”, and until the beginning of the XIX century, the passage was an ordinary narrow rural road. The first development project of the district was developed in 1821, but it was not implemented in reality. The project began to work again after 1824.
In 1906, benches and city lights were built on the avenue. At that time, it was the most fashionable street in Barcelona, where buildings in the style of Art Nouveau Antoni Gaudí and other architects began to appear.
Now on the street there is a perfume museum, Ruber Palace, Tibuli Theatre, cinemas, gardens, hotels and numerous buildings.
