Sculpture "Dragon" at the entrance to Park Güell
Description:
The Dragon sculpture at the entrance to Park Güell is one of the most beautiful sculptures in Barcelona. It was created in the period 1900-1914 by a very talented architect Gaudí y Cornet Antonio. The sculpture "Dragon" adorns the entrance to the park, majestically rising above the stairs. Created by the sculptor, it is located in the middle of the third span of the stairs and has become an indispensable symbol of Park Güell. This unique sculpture is decorated with colored mosaics.
The majestic “Dragon” is not at all bored at the top, as it is surrounded by many other sculptures created by the same architect. In 1962, the art ensemble of the park, including the Dragon sculpture, was declared an Art Monument, and in 1969 the sculptures were given the honorary title of a monument of national importance. These architectural creations were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1984.
