Gaudi House Museum
Carrer Larrard, 70, 08024 Barcelona, Spain
About the company:
The house-museum of Antonio Gaudí is located in the Park Güell and was opened by friends of the great architect Gaudí in 1963 in his former house. Gaudí lived in this house in Park Güell for the rest of his life without moving.
The mansion is built in the same style as all the houses in the city-park Güell – it clearly traces the artist’s love for art and music, his style, which at one time never found recognition. The building is made in pink, the interior is dominated by furniture samples, among which special attention deserves furniture from the mansions of Mila and Batllo.
The museum contains not only samples of furniture created for himself and others, but also some things that belonged to the architect. Also in the house-museum of Gaudí is an amazing collection of paintings by famous and talented painters Picasso and Miro. In this mansion, everything says about the great master, even the fence of the house surrounding the garden was created by the hands of the architect. In it, Gaudí embodied the artistic style that is so characteristic of his work - twisted arches created entirely of metal.
The mansion strikes at the same time with its grandeur and rebellious and romantic motives – it is not just another house from Park Güell, it is the home of the great genius Antonio Gaudí.
