Museum of Paleontology

C. Montcada, 1, Barcelona, Spain

About the company:

The appearance of the Museum of Paleontology in Barcelona is not accidental – millennia ago mammoths inhabited the Iberian Peninsula. Numerous findings of paleontologists only confirm this fact. One of the most recent discoveries was made in 2008, when scientists discovered more than 400 fragments.

The paleontological museum contains a unique exposition about animals that lived in the ice age. The main tasks of the museum are not only to popularize knowledge about fossil animals, but also to provide a platform for detailed study of unique exhibits by professional specialists. The exposition of the museum is based on the richest paleontological collections collected during expeditions in America, Canada, Chukotka and Yakutia.

Visitors to the paleontological museum have a unique opportunity to touch the teeth and tusks of a mammoth with their own hands and even hold the horn of a woolly rhino. In addition to representatives of the oldest fauna, the museum presents masterpieces of rock painting, copied from the ceiling and walls of museum halls. In one of the halls you can see unique works of bone carving - many stunning products from mammoth tusk, made by masters from different parts of the world.
