Here every stone literally breathes history. You will visit Ortez, Navarrence, Salis and Sovter, the same cities that appear in ancient chronicles, where chroniclers recorded for posterity the history of their region. Later, the French writer Dumas chose these places for his novels.
The streets and castles of these cities will tell you about the struggle between France and England for these lands, about the merciless Hugguenot wars, about the life in retirement of the brave Porthos, about the discovery of wonderful salt springs and much more. And what a pleasure to walk through the toy-beautiful streets of the quiet provincial cities of “deep” France!
Lunch during the tour will be held in a colorful local tavern, where you will be offered to eat traditional dishes of this region: Bayon ham, garbure, pigeon or trout.
