Walking tour of Elche

I invite you to discover Elche, an amazing city where three cultural treasures are listed as UNESCO heritage. We will walk along the narrow streets of the historic center, climb the bell tower of the Basilica of Santa Maria (for morning excursions), look into the ancient Tower of Kalaor and the majestic castle of Altamira. At the Palmeral Museum, I will tell you how the Arabs created a complex irrigation system, thanks to which Elche surrounds Europe’s largest palm forest.
We will walk along the tennis alleys of the Botanical Garden of Huerto del Cura and in the city park, among tropical greenery, ponds with golden carp, learn the hystria of the Imperial Palm and admire peacocks.

I will tell you about the Mystery de Elche, a medieval spectacle that still attracts thousands of spectators every year, as well as about the mysterious Lady of Elche, accidentally found more than a hundred years ago and became a symbol of all Spain.
