Walk through the city

Description:

Granada, a small city in southern Spain, lies at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, the highest mountain range in the Iberian Peninsula.

Two religions, Islam and Christianity, left an indelible imprint on its history, culture, architecture, gave it an irresistible charm that does not leave indifferent those who first find themselves here. The year 1492 was a turning point for Granada, ending the Islamic part of history and beginning the Christian period, which turned the city into a symbol of religious, political and administrative unity of the nascent Spanish Empire.

A walk through Granada will take us to the Middle Ages to the streets of a busy silk market, where there was a brisk trade, caravanserai, madrassas, the Arab quarter of Albaisin, sung by Federico Garcia Lorca. Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon, who expelled Muslims from Spain, made significant changes in the appearance of the city: the Cathedral, the Royal Shrine, where they bequeathed themselves to be buried, the Royal Chancellery, which is still the highest court in Andalusia. 3 hours of excursion and 700 years of history, which turned Granada into one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, attracting the attention of tourists for centuries.
