The story of Jerez de la Frontera, a city in southern Spain.

The small town of Jerez de la Frontera, located in the province of Cádiz, is the center of the famous Jerez Triangle, the place where the world-famous Spanish Jerez is produced and the famous Andalusian horses are raised.

Like most cities in southern Spain, Jerez grew up on the site of an ancient Iberian village called Hera, colonized by the Phoenicians. On fertile lands, agriculture flourished, grapes were grown, and wine was produced. During the Roman Empire, Jerez was known as the Seretium, one of the stations on Via Augusta, a Roman road connecting western Hades with the rest of the empire.
