High gastronomy, olive oil from D.O. Baena or Iberian ham from the Pedroches mountain region are incomparable products. The city’s rich cultural heritage makes Córdoba a prime place to visit. You will not be understood if you have been to Córdoba and have not visited its magnificent and unique monument Mosque Cathedral.
Also, you will not understand if you have not tasted local snacks and dishes.
Tapas is a type of cold and hot snack. But for most Spaniards, it’s not just food, it’s a lifestyle, and eating is sacred. The Spanish language even has the verb “tapear” – it means “to go to bars, chat with friends and acquaintances, drink beer, wine and eat tapas in good company”.
The route passes through the establishments that won first places in the gastronomic competition “Cordoba Khalifato Gurmet 2015” (Córdoba Califato Gourmet 2015), as well as participants in the II and III competition “Dear tapas in Córdoba 2014 and 2015” (Ruta de la tapa Cordoba 2014 - 2015).
“Cordoba Khalifato Gurmet” – a gastronomic event in 2015 was held for the second time in Córdoba, which brought together seven chefs with 9 Michelin stars and 18th Soles Repsol and about 50 establishments in Córdoba and the province. At the end of the competition, snacks prepared with enthusiasm, creativity and imagination were revealed, which today attract not only local residents, but also tourists.
Programme:
During the tour we will visit about 6 - 8 bars and a tavern, you will taste such snacks as: tuna on toast bread with seasoning of peach and lime; venison with roasted pepper and mushrooms; goat cheese sandwich, foie gras, with apple and Cumberland sauce; toast with jamon and parmesan cheese; eggplant in cream with shrimp and ham; mazamorra (porra) with cheese and gelatin Pemen and many others.
