The beaches of Tossa de Mar

Tossa de Mar, Costa Brava, Spain

Description:

Tossa de Mar is a small town in eastern Spain, 90 km north of Barcelona. The city is famous for its picturesque coves and beaches.

As a resort, the city developed in the 50s of the twentieth century, when it was shooting the picture “Pandora and the Flying Dutchman”. Actress Ava Gardner was very fond of the local beaches, thanks to which the simple fishing town turned into a famous resort. In Tossa de Mar there is a monument in honor of the actress.

The city has three large sandy beaches: Mar Grand, Mar Menuda, El Kolodar, which stretch along the sea for 14 kilometers. In the "hot" season, many vacationers gather here, so for privacy you can go by boat to quiet bays. On the coasts of the beaches, it is possible to rent sun loungers, umbrellas, boats and water bicycles, bars and restaurants work.
