Montserrat is located 50 kilometers from Barcelona. Here is the most famous monastery of the same name. The mountain has unusual, bizarre outlines: huge rocks resembling idols, forming patterns of channels, mysterious caves. The incomparable charm of Montserrat has repeatedly inspired musicians, artists and poets to create masterpieces.
According to legend, this mountain is the palace of the Mother of God, the ancient black statue of which, which is the main shrine of Catalonia, is located here. They go to the mountain not only to admire the amazing natural phenomenon, but also to beg the Black Madonna, famous for her miraculous power, health, successful marriage and especially children.
Montserrat can be reached by train, bus or car. A cable car and a mountain train lead up the mountain, and funiculars go to the top. In total there are about ten hiking tourist routes.
