Excursion to Cadiz

Description:

The oldest city in Spain, Cadiz is located on a narrow rocky peninsula, far outliving the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
Cadiz is classical Andalusia, with snow-white houses and tropical vegetation; the resort is full of Spanish southern charm. The old town is located on a long spit protruding into the sea for 9 kilometers, and is visually separated from the rest of the city by the Gate of the Earth (Puerta de la Tierra). In Cadiz, you should definitely visit the Baroque church Oratorio de San Felipe Neri, climb the dome of the Cathedral, which was built for a hundred years and was completed in the early XIX century, as well as ride in a horse-drawn carriage through the old winding city streets.
In addition to the cathedral, there are several interesting places in Cadiz. This is the square of San Juan de Dios, where you can find the city hall in the neoclassical style of the XIX century and pleasant cafes. The Oratorio Santa Cueva is a church built in 1780, consisting of the Lower and Upper Chapels. In the Upper Chapel there is a large triptych of Goya. In the Lower Chapel you can find the sculpture of the crucifix, which inspired Joseph Haydn to write the oratorio "Seven last words on the cross."

As you can see, there is a lot of beauty in this Spanish city, so it is worth visiting there.
