The main attraction of the city is the New Bridge, located over the Tajo Gorge. The years of construction between 1759 and 1793, the total height of the bridge is 98 meters. After the first Bridge was rebuilt and expanded during the reign of the first king of the Bourbon dynasty on the Spanish throne, Philip V (Felipe V), in 1742, as evidenced by a plaque located next to the gate. This unique landmark of the city consists of a double arch of masonry topped by three peaks, decorated with the shell of the Dukes of Anjou and the royal shield of the Bourbons.
