White villages. Casares - Gausin - Genalguasil - Estepona.

Description:

In the triangle between Sanlucar de Barrameda in the west, Tarifa in the south and Ronda in the northern country scattered villages, which because of the radiant whitishness of their homes are nicknamed "pueblos blancos" - white towns. Cubes of houses are sculpted to the mountain slopes, snuggling against the church, so from a distance it all looks like a snowy clearing against a dark background of mountains.

Whiteness changes its shades depending on the time of day: a yellowish tide in the morning sun, a dazzling sowing at noon and, finally, bluish shadows at evening dawn. Pueblos Blancos is a special world, far from the troublesome bustle of the Costa del Sol.

To get to the white towns, we eat from Estepona to the mountains. The first village is Casares, then Gausin, then Genalguasil and from there, closing the ring around the mountain range of Sierra Bermech, we return to Estepona.

Casares is an ensemble of historical and artistic significance (UNESCO).

Gausin – walk through the historical center of the village with a visit to the local church and fortress.

Genalguasil. There is no other village where there are so many beautiful places to visit. For the second decade, every two years, artists, sculptors, musicians, various craftsmen and craftsmen come to Genalguasil on a competitive basis, who are ready to create their creation for the residents of the village for shelter and food. What treasures the inhabitants of Genalguasil have, you will learn by visiting this “white town”.
