Tour of Gibraltar
Description:
Since 2013, Russian citizens have been able to take an individual day trip to Gibraltar. Less than an hour by car from Marbella and we are in Gibraltar, on the Rock, as the Spaniards call it. On the territory of only 6.5 square kilometers lives 30 thousand people. Places here are so small that crossing the border with Spain, we enter the "Rock" on the runway of the local airport.
At the very top of Gibraltar are the main attractions - the Cave of St. Michael, tunnels made to protect the "Rock" from the enemy and, of course, monkeys living here in a natural form. There are about 300 of them here, and they feel very good here. At the bottom, on the southwest side, is the observation deck “Punto Europe”, and next to it, a lighthouse.
Gibraltar is a British territory, the official language of English, but all also speak Spanish. Here you have your own money, Gibraltar pounds, but in shops you can also pay euros. Urban areas are like England in miniature, police uniforms, telephone booths, double-decker buses - everything is like in foggy Albion.
I recommend combining a tour of Gibraltar with a visit to Tarifa, the southernmost point of Europe and Spain. The fare, where the Atlantic Ocean begins, is just a half-hour drive from Gibraltar.
