Description:
From the top of Mount Gibralfaro, there is a beautiful view of the Plaza de Toros, an arena for bullfighting. It is located near the center of Malaga. In addition to bullfighting, you can visit a small museum dedicated to the history of bullfighting.
The second name of the bullfighting arena is La Malageta, because it is located in the same area of the city. The arena gave the neighborhood its name. This popular attraction is depicted in almost all panoramas of Malaga. The arena building was built in 1874, designed by architect Joaquin Rukoba and can accommodate up to 14 thousand spectators. The official opening ceremony took place on June 11, 1876. Exactly one hundred years later, in the jubilee of 1976, the arena received the status of "Historical and Artistic Complex".
The museum at the arena features costumes of famous bullfighters, as well as photographs, colorful advertising posters and many other things that will allow you to immerse yourself in the emotional and dangerous world of Spanish bullfighting.
