Excursion to Nerja with a visit to the Cave, the Balcony of Europe and the village of Frigilian

Description:

Nerja, one of the most beautiful and original cities of the Costa del Sol. The name of the city comes from the Arabic "Nariksha", which means abundant springs. Nerja, along with Marbella, is considered the place with the best climate on the Costa del Sol. The most beautiful sea shore and the cleanest water on the coast is in Nerja. The construction boom did not change the appearance of the city, the cozy Old Town, two or three-storey houses and friendly residents - all this is Nerja.

The main attractions of the city are the so-called "Balcony of Europe" and of course the Cave. The balcony of Europe is an observation deck overlooking the sea in the old part of the city. Once there was a fortress built by the Moors, which was destroyed during the invasion of Napoleonic troops. The name of this place was given by Alfonso XIII, King of Spain, who visited this place in 1885. The sculpture of the king, installed here, reminds of this event.

Nerja Cave, which is located near the town of Maro, is one of the most beautiful in Spain. Every year, in the second half of July, the Cave Music Festival is held here, in which Mstislav Rastropovich, Maya Plisetskaya, Placido Domingo took part at one time.

Finishing the tour, we visit Frigiliana, a typical "White Village of Andalusia", which is 8 minutes drive from Nerja. Here you can taste "Moscatell", a sweet wine typical of the coast of Malaga and walk through the narrow and cozy streets of the Spanish village.

Excursion in Nerja can be combined with a very interesting route - by kayaking on the sea, the main purpose of which is to see the beautiful sea coast, with caves, cozy bays and numerous waterfalls. The route does not require special training for 2.5 hours.
