Tour to Ronda
Description:
An excursion to Ronda, one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, begins on the Costa del Sol. Just an hour from Marbella, along a mountain road with stunning views, and we are in a city that is already about 3 thousand years old. Ronda is located on a rock that served as a natural defense against enemy attacks.
The so-called “New Bridge” and the Bullfighting Arena are the main symbols of the city. The bridge offers amazing views of the valley, the so-called “Orchester Pit”. And it was in Ronda that the rules of bullfighting were approved, which are still in effect, and it is here, in late August-early September, that one of the most prestigious bullfights in Spain, the so-called Goyesca bullfighting, is held, in which the most eminent torreadors of Spain take part. Here is the Royal Riding School and the museums of Corrida and antique weapons.
In local restaurants, you can try traditional Spanish dishes, for example, “bull tail”, or grilled meat dishes.
Ronda is the winemaking center of the province of Malaga, wine has been produced here since Roman times. The tour can be combined with a visit to the so-called “bodega”, that is, a wine factory, where you can conduct a tasting, and where we will be told about the process of making local wines.
For young children, it will be very interesting to visit the so-called Smurf Village, which is located near Ronda in the town of Huskar. Painted blue houses with drawings of funny gnomes from the cartoon “Smurfs”.
