Port d'Andratx - elite resort of Mallorca | Drone view
Enjoy breathtaking views from above at Port d’Andratx, one of Mallorca’s most picturesque and historic ports. The port of Andrac was founded as a fishing village and for centuries served as an important shelter for sailors and fishermen from the storms of the Mediterranean. The name "Andrach" is of Arabic origin - the island was under the rule of the Moors from 902 to 1229, which left its mark on the toponymy of the region. In the Middle Ages, the port was regularly attacked by pirates, so watchtowers were built on the surrounding hills (some still exist today). Locals were often forced to hide in the Tramuntana Mountains. In the twentieth century, the modest fishing harbor became one of the most prestigious resorts in Mallorca, while retaining its authentic Mediterranean charm and traditional architecture.
