San Salvador Cathedral
Plaza de la Seo, 4, 50001 Zaragoza, Spain
Description:
The walls of the cathedral bear witness to the long history of architecture in Zaragoza. Legend has it that the cathedral was built on the very place where in 40 the miracle of the appearance of Our Lady to the Apostle James occurred. In the VIII century, a Christian temple was erected here. After the capture of the city by the Moors, the cathedral was turned into a mosque and was restored only after the liberation of the city by the Spaniards. It absorbed all styles, but the Gothic direction is still traced to a greater extent.
