Cuellar Castle
Description:
Cuellar Castle is a romantic place built in the Middle Ages and covered with an aura of incredible stories and legends.
Cuellar was the castle of the Dukes of Alburquerque and was considered a symbol of the city of the same name. The fortress never participated in historical events and battles, despite the political passions that took place around the castle. The problems that Spain experienced in the Middle Ages did not affect the walls of the castle, and until 1965 it was used as a city prison.
At the end of the XIX century, Cuellar was attacked and looted, after which the fortress was used as a sanatorium for patients with tuberculosis. Currently, Cuellar is an object of historical heritage of Spain and has been preserved to this day in excellent condition.
