Underground River in the Caves of San Jose and Sagunto Castle

Description:

You are invited to visit the longest underground river in Europe, along which boat tours for tourists have been organized since the 30s of the last century.

The village of La Val d’Usho is located 50 km from Valencia. Here are the caves with an underground river length of 2,750 meters. They were used by prehistoric people and were their habitat. The bizarre forms of nature, combined with artificial illumination, take us to a fantastic world where light, shape and color have acquired their maximum expression.

Then we will visit one of the longest castles in Spain and the closest in distance from Valencia. He witnessed the various civilizations that inhabited him: Romans, Visigoths, Arabs and Christians. After his visit, we descend to the historical center, where the ancient Jewish quarter is located.

The city of Sagunto is even more ancient than Valencia – it is already 2500 years old! At one time he was the cause of the Second Punic War with Hannibal. Here, part of the wall of the Roman temple of Diana survived, which even Hannibal did not destroy as a sign of respect for the goddess.
