Torre del Miguelete Tower

Valencia, Spain

Description:

Torre del Miguelete is one of the largest towers, which is part of the complex of the Cathedral of Valencia. Construction of the tower was started in 1381 by the architect Andreu Giulia. The tower was originally called the "New Colonial Tower", but was later renamed because of the Migetel Bell installed in 1539. In ancient times, the ringing of the bell counted the time.

The tower is 68 meters high. Inside the ancient tower is a spiral staircase that leads up to the observation deck. It offers a wonderful panorama of the ancient city of Valencia. The interior of the tower is decorated with beautiful carved details. The main role was played by the bell tower of Sora la Seo, whose bells rang for five centuries.
