National Ceramics Museum
Calle Poeta Querol 2, 46002 - VALENCIA, Españ a.
About the company:
The National Museum of Ceramics of Valencia is located in the heart of the city, in the palace of the Marquis de Dos Aguas. The Baroque building was renovated in the middle of the last century. The Museum of Ceramics is considered a real ceramic paradise of Spain.
The museum collection is based on the private collection of Gonzalez Marti, which was replenished and expanded over time. Now in the exposition of the museum there are more than 5000 copies - samples of traditional pottery art of Valencia and its surroundings, tiles from Teruel, faience from Toledo and Seville. In addition to local ceramics, there are Greek, Roman and Arabic products, porcelain from China and Japan, as well as modern objects and paintings, among which there are even works by Picasso. The pride of the collection is the reconstructed Valencian cuisine of the early XIX century, fully equipped and decorated with ceramic tiles.
The exposition of the museum tells about the history of ceramics, the main stages of the development of pottery production. In addition to the main thematic exhibitions, the González Marti National Museum of Ceramics provides an opportunity to visit the ceramics factory, considered the best not only in Valencia, but also in the whole of Spain. The factory has a shop-museum, which contains products that are successfully sold in different parts of the world.
