Vigo

Vigo is a city born of the sea

Description:

Vigo is the largest port city in northwestern Spain, surrounded by beautiful beaches and picturesque coves. It is a paradise for lovers of seafood and sea travel.

The tour of Vigo will begin in the port area. You will see huge cruise ships, luxury yachts, small fishing boats. Here you can plunge into the atmosphere of turbulent port life, which fills with energy and sets the rhythm for all residents.

In Vigo drew inspiration from the famous writer Jules Verne, strolling through the narrow streets and neat squares of the city. You will also be lucky, following the same route and peering into the architecture of ancient houses built in the XV-XVI centuries. We will visit one of the main shrines of Vigo - the Cathedral Church of Santa Maria.

During the tour we will pass through the streets of the historic quarter, where the main witnesses of the glorious history of Vigo are concentrated.

At Puerta del Sol, I will show you the monumental structure of El Sireno, a modern symbol of the city.

On the square of Spain you will see the sculpture “Kony”, which reminds of the traditional Galician holiday of Rapa das Bestas, where, according to a long tradition, daredevils catch wild horses.

Original souvenirs from local craftsmen you can buy on Sesteros Street. Here you can still see how craftsmen weave baskets or make products from clay.

Be sure to visit the square Mercado de la Piedra, which is famous for incredibly tasty oysters. We can enjoy seafood with a glass of delicious local wine on one of the terraces of the local restaurants.

We will finish the tour of Vigo at the observation deck of Mirador del Castro, where you will have amazing views of the city and the port.
