Church of San Felio

Pujada de Sant Feliu, 29

Description:

The construction of the Gothic church of San Feliu in Girona began in the IX century. Then it was repeatedly rebuilt and completed, and in 1581 it suffered a sad fate - lightning struck its high tower, the blow was so powerful that the spire collapsed. After some time, the church was restored, but the appearance became slightly different.

In the northern part is the Baroque chapel of San Narciso, dedicated to Saint Narcissus, who during the reign of Emperor Diocletian was Bishop of Gerona. In the interior of the church there are preserved stone sarcophagi of the Roman and early Christian period, as well as other interesting exhibits. You can enter the church through the entrance located on the south side.
