Baniasi River
Description:
Through the sacred Israeli village of Safed, the picturesque Baniasi River flows, merging with the no less famous tributary of Liddan and the Korouni stream, flowing into the Jordan. Its second name is Hebron, because of the volcanic rocks that created an atypical type of channel. Since ancient times, the source originated in a cave near the village of Panias, which identifies its name with the name of the pagan god Pan. The name of the river is a modified name of the deity. It flows through the Banias National Park, forming rapids and winding waterfalls, so beloved by tourists.
You can get to the sights by paving the way to the eponymous city of Banias, following the current of Hebron (read-Baniasi). You can go down to the waterfall, or you can go further along the suspension bridges, reaching Upper Hebron - a large mountain river.
