Eilat

Excursion on the way to Eilat

Description:

In the small state of Israel, more than half of the territory is occupied by three deserts - the Judean Desert, the Negev and the Arava. If you are heading to the southernmost point of the country - the resort on the Red Sea - the city of Eilat, more than 300 km you will have to go through the desert.

The desert is a special place full of secrets, interesting stories and harsh beauty. There are many places to visit in the Negev and the Arava, and I have compiled a route for you that will turn your trip to Eilat into a fascinating journey into the past, as well as show the modern miracle of Israel – the blooming Negev and the fertile Arava.

We will visit the Ben Gurion National Park and Nature Reserve. This is a real man-made green oasis in the desert, overlooking the gorge of the Qing River. Green grass, mountain goats walking freely in the park, and peeking out from behind the trees - everything here breathes calm and peace. The centerpiece of the park is the tomb of David Ben-Gurion and his wife.

Our tour continues in the Avdat National Park*. You will see the ruins of one of the ancient cities of Nabataeev, get acquainted with the history of this ancient nomad people who laid the famous Incense Road.

*A visit to the park is paid separately.

The next place of our excursion will be the town of Mitzpe Ramon, towering over the natural crater Ramon. From the height of the observation deck you will see a truly cosmic landscape - the crater is striking with its beauty and unusualness.

Going down into the crater, we will visit with you an interesting natural anomaly - "mill", despite the name, you will not see a single tree! You will also see colorful sands, plaster “wall” and much more.

We will cross the crater Ramon and, heading to Eilat, we will meet the Arava desert. We will visit one of the kibbutzim with you.
