Kibbutz Almog Book Museum

kibbutz Almog, northern Dead Sea coast, Israel

About the company:

Kibbutz Almog (kibbutz is a kind of social unit of Israel, a commune with the common property of its components and equality in labor and consumption) is a real green oasis on the deserted northern coast of the Dead Sea. Here you can comfortably stay near the coast, the kibbutz has everything you need. Even the museum.

Here is the so-called Book Museum, which contains the oldest scrolls in the world, found in the cave of Qumran near these places. Rather, the museum itself presents exact copies of some of the most famous and interesting scrolls found in Qumran (due to the undeniable value of the objects found there), as well as an extensive scientific library. A full part of the permanent exhibition is a multimedia presentation dedicated to the mysterious Qumran.

If necessary, the museum staff will help organize excursions around Qumran and the monasteries of the Judean Desert. Visiting the museum is possible by prior arrangement, admission is paid.
