Megiddo Airport
Description:
Three kilometers southwest of the Israeli city of Afula, located in the Jezreel Valley, is Megiddo Airport. It was named after a hill near the airport. Once on the site of the hill was an important city-state, on the site of which excavations are now underway.
Megiddo Airport opened in 1942 as an auxiliary airfield for Ramat David Air Base. In the late 80s, the airport was given for civilian use.
Megiddo is now used mainly for private flights and as an airfield for agricultural aircraft.
