The roof of Israel. Golan Heights.

Description:

The roof of Israel. Golan Heights. As a personal guide, I will accompany you to the north of Israel, to the world of black basalt mountains and waterfalls, to the Golan Heights. Molten magma poured out of the bowels of the earth, forming here amazing mountain strata, later cut through numerous streams. An indelible impression will be made by climbing the funicular to Mount Hermon - the highest point of our country. And going down, as once Mark Twain, we will visit the Mamluk fortress of Nimrod. Let us go down still further and enter the world of ancient Banias, or the Hellenistic Panias, or Caesarea Philippi. Pools, waterfalls, an ancient mill, everything gives this place a fabulous charm. Then, in my comfortable car, we will drive to the easternmost border of Israel, the Valley of Tears, where we will plunge into the recent past. A little over forty years ago there was a tank battle between the Syrian army and the IDF. You will learn why this battle is compared to the Battle of Kursk. On the way to ancient Gamla, we will explore the waterfalls and striking basaltic outlets. During the Great Judean Rebellion, the inhabitants of Gamla bravely confronted the numerous Roman army. There are also many dolmens, mysterious structures of the copper-stone age. Well, over our heads hover the owners of the heavenly expanses - bald necks, wingspan, which reaches two meters. And we will finish our trip in a small town - Katzrin. Here, the archaeological museum presents the most interesting exhibits of the Copper Stone Age, and in the archaeological park restored buildings and a synagogue of the Talmud era.
