Star of Bethlehem

Description:

Bethlehem is one of the most ancient cities in the world, having survived many cultural and political eras. It was here, led by a guiding star, that the Magi came to worship and present gifts to the newborn Messiah Jesus Christ. Today it is a city of magnet, for tourists from all over the world.

Visit the main shrines:

(1) The Basilica of the Nativity.

It was here that the Holy Vertep was located and Jesus was born, and now above the Holy Cave stands the Basilica of the Nativity of Christ - the oldest of the active churches in the world. It suffered destruction, rebuilt, but since 550, it has found its true appearance and continuously receives parishioners. The fact that the temple has survived to our days is called a huge miracle!

(2) Milk grotto.

It is also known as the Milk Cave. Here the Holy Family was sheltered from the wars of King Herod. The Virgin fed the baby, and a few drops of milk fell on the stone, after which the floor and walls of the cave turned white. It is believed that powder from stone taken from the walls of the chapel contributes to the treatment of infertility. The temple is a place of pilgrimage for childless couples.

(3) Shepherd Church.

The burial place of biblical shepherds became the basis of the temple. The age of the church is more than one and a half thousand years.

(4) St. Nicholas Church.

A portion of the relics of the saint are kept.
