Jacobite chapel
Description:
The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is the most famous Christian shrine. In Jerusalem it is one of the most famous sights. In this building there are several shrines, including the Chapel of Jacobites (Syrian Christians). It is located in walls dating back to the fourth century. During this period the country was ruled by Emperor Constantine. Unfortunately, the altar did not survive being destroyed by fire. Through the chapel there is a passage to the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea.
According to the information that has reached us, it was he who buried Jesus Christ. The tomb is carved into the rock. You can get there by taxi (to the New Gate), by light metro to City Hall station, by bus 1, 2, 3, 21 to Damascus Gate.
