The Davidson Center Archaeological Park
Temple Mount Excavations, Jerusalem, 91034
Description:
The Davidson Center Archaeological Park is an open-air archaeological museum located near the Temple Mount, near the Garbage Gate.
Excavations began in 1867 thanks to the English archaeologist Charles Warren. Many generations of scholars have worked to create an image of old Jerusalem. At present, the Center is able to view the layout of the city, which reveals the world of the past that is forever lost to us.
The layout conveys incredible sensations, takes you to Jerusalem during the Second Temple period. Here you can also see the remains of buildings of the Byzantine era, the ruins of the palaces of the Umayyad dynasty. The two-thousand-year history of the Temple Mount flashes before visitors.
