Botanical Garden on Mount Scopus

Mount Scopus, Jerusalem, Israel | Hebrew University Campus

Description:

The Botanical Garden on Mount Scopus, led by the Hebrew University, was founded in 1931 by Professor Otto Warburg, head of the Hebrew University Department of Botany. The garden stretches over 6 hectares and contains about one thousand different plant species, representing 40% of the wild plant species of Israel.

Exhibitions of plants are divided into climatic zones, ranging from humid coastal areas to arid mountain lands. Within the boundaries of the botanical garden are ancient burial caves of the Second Temple period.

Entrance to the botanical garden is free, but if you want to use a guide, you will have to pay for its services.
