Garbage gates

The Garbage Gate is the lowest gate in Old Jerusalem.

Through them you can get to the Jewish Quarter and the Western Wall.

There are two legends of the appearance of the gate: the first - through a hole in the wall in ancient times, garbage and waste were taken out, the second - a battering ram struck the wall during the attack of the Crusaders.

Garbage gates are seen in the Old Testament, their current placement may differ from the former.

You can get to the gate by public transport to the old part of the city.

Since they lead to the Jewish Quarter, you need to go south to the wall.
