Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem
HaNasi 1-11, Jerusalem, Israel
Description:
Israelis, more than anyone else in the world, respect and honor the memory of the more than six million Jews who lost their lives during the satanic madness of the Holocaust.
Yad Vashem Museum is a complex of buildings dedicated to the horrors of an unprecedented tragedy that should never happen again.
The monument is located on the western slope of the Mount of Memory in Jerusalem, at an altitude of 804 meters. The area of the Memorial is impressive - just under 18 hectares. The museum was built in 1953, but to this day, in terms of the number of excursions it is second only to the equally famous Wailing Wall. Entrance is free. Weekends are Saturday and traditional Jewish holidays.
