Jerusalem, Israel

Description:

The Gate of Zion is one of the eight gates of the Old City of Jerusalem. Through this gate you can get to Mount Zion - hence the name. The gate serves as a gateway to the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem. At the gates of Zion preserved unusual jewelry from ancient times.

Nearby there are a number of religious shrines: the tomb of the prophet David, the room of the Last Supper and the Abbey of Dormition. On the right you can see the monastery of St. Savior. If you go further you can see the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

There are bullet marks on the gate. It is the memory of the fierce battles with the Arabs - part of Israel's history.
