Archaeological Museum "City of David"

Kfar HaShiloah, Jerusalem, 97400, Israel

About the company:

The City of David Archaeological Museum is dedicated to the first king of Israel, David.

He conquered Jerusalem and made it the capital of his country. The city he built was outside the current wall, and archaeological excavations have been going on for centuries. During the excavations, the Warren mine was found, which was named after a British archaeological officer who found many interesting objects here.

It is not just a museum, it is an area that attracts about 500,000 visitors annually. In addition to the Warren mine, the Hezekiah tunnel was found here, which, together with the mine, protected the city walls from potential invaders.

Tourists can visit the mine and tunnel. It is necessary to take a flashlight - these places are dark and humid.

The museum is open from Sunday to Thursday from 9 to 5 p.m. and on Friday from 9 to 1 p.m.
