Wol Museum of Archaeology

1 Hakaraim Street, Jerusalem, Israel

About the company:

The museum is located in the Jewish Quarter. Now it is an expensive area, where there are residential buildings. Narrow stony streets are a favorite place for people who dream of solitude. During the period of the Second Temple, under King Herod the Great, representatives of the priestly elite lived here. They were told to live near the temple. Their houses were multi-storey, with rich decoration. The ruins of these buildings were discovered in modern times. The ancient way of life of Jews is widely represented in the Museum of Vol.

Here are exhibited household items, works of art, fragments of sculptures, dishes. Tourists can get acquainted with unique samples of carved furniture, as well as decor items made of stone. By luck, the mosaic floors remained almost intact and undamaged, which can also be seen in the Vol Museum. Thanks to the meticulous work of archaeologists and museum workers, it was possible to completely recreate the life of the Second Temple period.
