Wolfson Museum of Jewish Rite Art
Heichal Shlomo, King George 58, Jerusalem, 94262, Israel
About the company:
The Lady Wolfson Museum of Jewish Rite Art presents ceremonial objects of Judaism.
The museum has been housed in the Hechal Shlomo building in Jerusalem since 1958.
In the museum you can see the traditional Easter paraphernalia of Jews. Among the paraphernalia there is a very interesting exhibit - a metal vessel in the form of a small construction wheelbarrow, designed for a special Easter dish - haroset (a thick mixture of grated fruits, nuts and red wine). The name Haroset is consonant with the word "heres", which in Hebrew is "clay". Jews made bricks from clay, so the shape of the vessel becomes clear, because it is a wheelbarrow for the transportation of building materials, clay and stones.
The museum also has miniature match models of synagogues, displays of Jewish birthday celebrations and wedding ceremonies.
The museum is open from Sunday to Thursday from 9 to 3 p.m.
