The Burnt House Museum

Israel, Jerusalem, Old City

About the company:

The Burnt House Museum, located in the Israeli city of Jerusalem, was opened on the site of a building discovered during excavations in the Old City, an ancient district of Jerusalem. In this house lived the family of a priest who held a high rank in the church.

The small room of the museum can be toured in a short time, but the exhibits located in it are valuable because thanks to them, visitors will learn the history of everyday life of the rich citizens of Jerusalem during the Second Temple (516 BC – 70 AD). The short film, which shows the events of those years, as well as the first century AD, when the Romans, who stormed the city, destroyed the Second Temple and many city buildings, is shown inside the museum.
