The Way of the Cross

Description:

The Way of the Cross. Our individual tour is dedicated to the last hours of the earthly life of Jesus Christ. We will start with a panorama of Jerusalem, which opens from Mount Scopus. Then, in a comfortable car, we will drive to the Old Town and enter beyond its walls. Before us, perhaps the most famous and most exciting street in the world is the Via Dolorosa, the Path of Sorrow or the Way of the Cross, the path by which Jesus proceeded to the place of execution. The entire path is marked by memorable “stops” associated with all the events of those mournful moments. This, and the “Judgment of Pilate in Pretoria”, the name of which speaks for itself, and the “Scolding and finding of the Cross” – the place where Roman soldiers mocked Him, and “Meeting with the Virgin”, where Jesus met his mother, and several other places that have their own history, tradition, concern all Christians of the Earth. Passing through the Via Doloros, like many pilgrims who have walked on these stones for many hundreds of years, we will enter the vaults of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. It covers the last stops in the life of Christ. Here, the well-known Golgotha, the place of the Crucifixion, the Stone of the Anointing and, of course, the place of “Putting into the tomb and the Resurrection of the Lord.” After leaving the Temple, we will walk through the streets of Jerusalem, stone folds, which are hidden by such “unknown monasteries” as the monastery of Great Panagia, founded at the end of the fifth century AD, the monastery of St. Paul. John the Baptist, located on the site of the oldest Jerusalem church, founded by Queen Helena in the IV century. And we will end our day at the Jaffa Gate, where, having seen the sights of this corner of the Old City, you will return to modernity.
