Muslim shrines of Jerusalem

Description:

To the Muslim shrines, we will begin our personal tour with the ascent to the most important place in Muslim Jerusalem – the famous Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third most holy in Islam. At the very beginning of the birth of this new faith, it was here, on the Temple Mount, that the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca was transported on the wonderful horse of Al Burak. After the prayer, Muhammad went from here to the Stone of the Universe, from which the Almighty began the creation of the world, and the Prophet ascended to the seventh heaven. You will see the magnificent golden dome of the memorial mosque covering the first Earth Stone. This mosque is called the Dome of the Rock and, although it is a Muslim shrine, has long been a hallmark of Jerusalem. On the site around the Dome of the Rock mosque there are many elegant dome architectural structures of small forms. These include the Dome of the Chain, the Dome of the Ascension, the Dome of the Prophet, the Summer Cathedral, the Dome of Joseph, the Dome of Solomon, and even the Dome of Grammar – all of them have their own history and legend.

After the Temple Mount, we will plunge into the maze of Muslim streets. At the Khanka Mosque, you will learn why non-Muslims are not allowed to visit mosques. The beauty of the house of the Syrian Emir al-Aruniya will allow you to touch the intricacies of Arab architecture, and at the palace of Mrs. Tunshuk I will tell you how it is connected with the name of the beloved wife of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent Roxolana. Finally, we come to the mosque of Omar, which is near the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Caliph Omar ibn al-Khattab was the first Arab ruler to conquer Jerusalem. Nevertheless, he showed unexpected, profound wisdom.

But we're in the twenty-first century. See you later!
