Naqiq Canyon a Shahor

HaNakik HaShahor, Tel Aviv, Israel

Description:

Naqiq al-Shahor Canyon is considered the most attractive canyoning destination in Israel, ideal for the middle of the year.

This attraction is a cleft, which is squeezed by basalt rocks located vertically. It is an integral part of the Nahal Zavitan Canyon, which is the longest in the Golan Heights, stretching for as much as 19 kilometers and does not dry out throughout the year.

The route is laid along the villages of the ancient era, where time has left its mark. Historians refer these villages to the Talmud era, from which our era safely began. Also there are buildings of the Ottoman Empire, which were of an economic nature.

Among other things, the states of Syria and Israel used the site as one large defensive structure during their endless wars. All buildings consist of black basalt stone - not the easiest to process the rock.
