Old Jaffa (on the shore, at the base of the Old City)

Description:

Hasan Bek Mosque is located very close to the line of the Mediterranean coast in the south of Tel Aviv in the so-called "ancient Jaffa". Due to its location, it has earned the nickname “Sea Mosque”. If you look at it from the Mediterranean coast, the building suspiciously resembles a lighthouse.

Hasan Bek Mosque was built in the early XX century in an area that, before the establishment of the State of Israel, was considered a place of compact residence of Palestinians. The minaret of this temple, doors made of green wood and shutters, arch-shaped windows are considered an organic part of the panorama of an ancient human settlement called Jaffa.
