Dizengoff House Museum
Sderot Rothschild 16, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel
About the company:
The Dizengoff Museum was owned by the first mayor of Tel Aviv. In one of the premises of the museum is the Hall of the Declaration of Independence. On May 14, 1948, the independence of the State of Israel was proclaimed. Everything in the hall remains exactly as it was at the time of independence. Here you can find declarations and other items related to the independence of Israel. The museum displays a video recording of the independence ceremony and audiovisual representations of its history.
The house was built in 1910. At that time, it was one of the first houses built in the Bayt Ahuzat district. During his lifetime, Meir Dizengoff bequeathed his home to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
Independence Hall is located on the first floor of the building, and on the upper floors is the Museum of the Bible. The museum is open from Sunday to Thursday from 9 to 2 p.m.
