Federal Public Service of Canada Week

Description:

Winners of the Public Utilities Competition of Canada
In 1992, the Parliament of Canada decided to celebrate the third week of June as Federal Public Service Week. This week is dedicated to taking stock of the activities of the Canadian civil service and celebrating the achievements in the development of this fundamental democratic institution of the country. This all-Canadian event aims to celebrate the professionalism, creative ingenuity and hard work of Canada’s federal employees in providing quality services to its citizens – the foundation of the health, safety and prosperity of society as a whole.

Selfless women and men in the ranks of the national public service are one of the most precious resources. Confidence that their work contribution is recognized by the public and appreciated by the government for their achievements is an important component of motivation for their activities in the ranks of civil servants. The week of the Federal Public Service is the time for the selection, recognition and remuneration of the most worthy representatives from the ranks of utility workers.

The final ceremony of awarding outstanding employees of the civil service of Canada is held in the capital region no less solemnly than the finals of the most famous creative competitions. Awards and scholarships are awarded in seven different categories. Winners are honored in all counties from coast to coast.

Federal Public Service Week gives Canadian citizens a unique opportunity to thank all government employees for their high level of interest and dedication to their work. Over the 15-year period of the annual celebration and summing up of the Federal Public Service Week, the Canadian Public Utilities System has been recognized as one of the best in the world.
