River Astoria
Description:
The Astoria River is a tributary of the Athabasca River in Canada. It originates in the Tonkin Valley, where meltwater from the glaciers of the Erebus, Oldhorn, and Clitero mountains gathers, and flows through Jasper National Park in Alberta. The river was named after John Jacob Astor, the first billionaire of the United States of America, who received the corresponding title as a result of the fur trade. Once a team of hunters traveled through Athabasca from Fort Astoria.
The Astoria River is located at an altitude of 1983 meters above sea level and has three tributaries: Eremite Creek, Green Creek and Campus Creek. It is surrounded by high mountains, snowy peaks, diverse flora and fauna. The path of the shallow river is winding, and the speed of the current is average.
